On Friday 26 July, some 20,000 fans of the Sporting Anderlecht soccer club flocked to the Constant Vanden Stock stadium and the surrounding area for the traditional annual Fan Day. The activities run by BNP Paribas Fortis proved to be extremely popular.
Official sponsor of the purple-and-white team for 32 years now, BNP Paribas Fortis once again this year helped to ensure that the event was a great success. The various activities on offer at the BNP Paribas Fortis Village – sports circuit, face-painting stand, distribution of team photos and posters – proved a great hit with the many children who came along, and also with the parents who accompanied them. Fans also had the opportunity for autograph sessions with the players in all parts of the stadium. More than fifty volunteer BNP Paribas Fortis Ambassadors were on hand to help the Fan Day run smoothly.
In addition, the Anderlecht supporters who packed the stands in mid-afternoon for the official introduction to the club’s first team had the chance to cheer their favourite players. The new captain Guillaume Gillet, plus Sacha Kljestan, Bram Nuytinck and Matias Suárez took the microphone to thank the fans for their support and underline their serious ambitions for the coming season. The team presentation closed with the release of signed balloons into the stands.
