BNP Paribas Real Estate has been recognised as Belgium’s top independent property manager for 2012, following a survey conducted by leading real estate sector news organ Expertise News. This is the fourth consecutive year that BNPP Real Estate has obtained this ranking. Expertise News conferred two separate awards on BNP Paribas Real Estate: 'Property Manager of the Year 2012 – Global Ranking' and 'Property Manager of the Year 2012 – Offices'.
With a portfolio of close to two million square metres, BNP Paribas Real Estate holds a 17% market share in Belgium. In the office space segment, BNP Paribas Real Estate currently holds a 26% national market share.
In 2012, more than 16 million square metres of property space in Belgium are under external management, an increase of 5% on 2011. This growth is mainly attributable to the retail (+11%) and semi-industrial (+5%) property segments. However, the office space market, with 6.2 million square metres under management, remains the largest real estate management segment, ahead of retail and semi-industrial.
BNP Paribas Real Estate Property Management has some 700 staff working at around 50 locations in 14 countries. With over 33 million m² under management, it is one of the leading real estate management sector players in Europe.
