As a socially responsible company BNP Paribas Fortis is actively engaged in the cultural and artistic life of the country. Accordingly, the Bank is running a new round of the Young Artistic Talent Awards competition. The deadline for entries is 4 March 2013. The awarded artists will get valuable prizes.
Eligible for the awards are all artists aged between 18 and 35 in 2012, who are resident in Belgium and who are either studying or working. The contest is open to all plastic and visual arts. There is no specific theme.
As a first step, a number of works will be selected by a jury composed of well-known figures from the artistic world – Joost Declercq (Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens), Denis Gielen (MAC’s, Grand-Hornu) and Dirk Snauwaert (Wiels, Contemporary Art Centre – plus BNP Paribas Fortis staff.
The works selected will be put on show (place and date of the exhibition still to be decided) so as to enable the artists to come into contact with the general public. Three main prizes will be awarded – worth respectively €6,000, €5,000, and €4,000 – to the works judged to demonstrate the greatest artistic talent. In addition, each artist whose work is chosen for the exhibition will receive a bonus of €500. The Young Artistic Talent Awards therefore provide an excellent opportunity for young hopefuls to garner support for their passion for art.
