Ace Manager, the international business game: 623 Belgian students ready to enter the fray

Registrations for Ace Manager, BNP Paribas' on-line business game closed last week. A total of 18,880 students in 136 countries will be confronting one another in this business game from today. The competitors include 623 Belgian students from over 75 schools and universities.

Registrations for the 5th Ace Manager competition – the Fifth Set, i.e. now in its fifth year – are closed and it’s time to start playing! This year, 18,880 students from 136 countries across the globe will be experiencing a thrilling and instructive adventure through several finance, business and management cases that they will have to solve.

The Belgians have taken to the idea with enthusiasm this year, since no fewer than 623 students have signed up for the BNP Paribas business game. That makes Belgium the 8th best represented country, ahead of the United Kingdom, Russia and Singapore. Most Ace Manager students come from China, India, Italy and France.

In terms of registrations, the University of Ghent, the Catholic University of Leuven and the HEC Management School at the University of Liège are way out in front. Altogether, 76 Belgian schools and universities have responded to the Ace Manager call.

Kick off – From 2 to 23 April, 3,463 teams of students in higher education (bachelor’s / master’s level, aged under 26 years) will be competing with one another. In a 3D environment, the teams immerse themselves in the world of banking and put their financial knowledge to the test, endeavouring to resolve questions about business matters in a spirit of intensive competition.

During the first phase of the on-line game, the teams will test their ability to exercise various banking professions. Their task: to find the best solution to help their clients develop.

The first phase will end with local finals featuring the five best teams to be held in the respective countries in mid-May. The candidates will then have to take up ‘one last challenge’ and will be assessed by a jury of experts made up of emeritus professors from the participating schools and members of the BNP Paribas management team.

Prizes – The first prize is EUR 6,000 and a trip to Paris for the team that comes out on top. The second team will receive EUR 3,000 and the third EUR 1,500. And all the finalists will receive tickets for tennis events.

For those who have not registered this year, see you next year!  However, you can already start supporting your country or your university on our Facebook Fan page. To follow the game, go to http://acemanager.bnpparibas.com.
