Developing tennis talent
People now associate tennis immediately with BNP Paribas. On an international level, our Group has been supporting the sport of kings since 1973. Today we are the number one tennis partner, sponsoring about 550 tournaments and tennis events worldwide.
In Belgium, we are proud that our brand now has been associated with the sport for a decade. BNP Paribas Fortis is a partner of the two branches of the country's Royal Belgian Tennis Association: Tennis Vlaanderen and the Association Francophone de Tennis (AFT). We support more than 500 Belgian clubs and we sponsor numerous professional and amateur tournaments to ensure that as many members as possible can fully experience the sport they are so passionate about.
Comprehensive support
“We want our support of tennis to be as comprehensive as possible in all its aspects and at all levels, and make this wonderful sport accessible to everyone," Tom Guetens, Sponsoring Manager at BNP Paribas Fortis, confirms.
“Our general objective is to help all tennis amateurs to evolve in their discipline. This means that we support young talent, but we also help coaches and trainers and we sponsor specific initiatives in Belgium organised by the clubs."
A brand new complex for Tennis Vlaanderen!
In recent months, our bank has co-financed the Dutch-speaking tennis association's upgraded elite sports centre. This state-of-the-art sports hall is expected to be inaugurated in September and will be used to train Belgium’s future tennis talent.
“Thanks to BNP Paribas Fortis’ years of support, Tennis Vlaanderen has been able to move with the times,” Sports and Technical Director Tom Devries says. “We have expanded the elite sports activities and the entire infrastructure of our sports complex. The bank's support has enabled us to expand and digitise all our services to the affiliated clubs. Of course this partnership is crucial to us and we are optimistic about the future of Belgian tennis."
