Black Friday becomes Pink Friday with Payconiq by Bancontact

Turn Black Friday into Pink Friday on Friday 26 November with Payconiq by Bancontact! That day, five cents will be donated to Think Pink for every payment made using the Payconiq app.

You may have already heard of Black Friday, an event that has become a thing in Europe in recent years. Originally an American gimmick, this big sales event follows Thanksgiving Day and marks the start of the annual scramble for Christmas presents. Many traders and e-retailers offer amazing deals and discounts on Black Friday.

You may also have heard of Think Pink. This charity does vital work every day, working to advance the understanding of breast cancer and its early detection through self-examination, and providing support to people suffering from this disease. A cause that is particularly close to our hearts at BNP Paribas Fortis.

Black Friday becomes Friday

That’s also why we have chosen to support Payconiq by Bancontact’s work, which aims to turn Black Friday into Pink Friday this year to help this amazing charity to combat breast cancer.

On Friday 26 November, five cents will be donated to Think Pink for every payment made using the Payconiq payment solution in the Payconiq by Bancontact app. In addition, all Payconiq transactions, whether online or in physical shops, will be free of charge for traders.

Donations made easy thanks to Scan for Change

But that’s not all. You can also use this mobile payment method on your smartphone or tablet to support various good causes in Belgium with micro-donations. The charities have been grouped into six categories: child welfare, mental well-being, health, equal opportunities, animal welfare and nature. Every eurocent of your micro-donation will go to these charities and Payconiq by Bancontact, in collaboration with the King Baudouin Foundation, makes sure that donations are equally distributed among the various charities.

So how does it work?

You can make a Scan For Change donation in several ways. Either you open your Payconiq by Bancontact app and tap “Services”, or you scan the QR code on a poster, a flyer, or the Scan For Change campaign website. Alternatively, you can also go to scanforchange.be. A donation of 2 euros is suggested, but you are free to change this amount.

Positive Banking also means supporting charities in their daily struggle.
