Arval steers you towards sustainable and flexible mobility

What will tomorrow’s mobility be like? The teams at Arval, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas Fortis, are working on it. And they are making sure that they offer an experience that is perfectly adapted to your needs. Philippe Kahn, New Mobility Manager at Arval, takes us into the future.

There’s no denying it: the pandemic has greatly changed our travel habits. But Arval hasn’t waited for the health crisis to observe changes in behaviour. “The pandemic has encouraged the development of cycling, and we believe that this is a new habit that will continue,” says Philippe Kahn. “Nevertheless, the big trend among our customers is clearly the electric car.”

Essential support before the big jump

As our federal government now requires companies to have a fleet made up of 100% electric company cars by 2026, many Belgian companies want to know more. “Initially, our customers contact us mainly for advice,” explains Philippe Kahn. “They want guidance, because legislation is not always that easy to understand, and want to know whether their mobility budget will be sufficient. Only then do they decide to take the plunge and switch to sustainable mobility.”

Step by step

“Each company embarks on this transition in their own way and at their own pace. We are there to accompany and support our customers in their choices. At Arval, we wanted to set an example and decided that all the cars used by directors and managers in contact with customers would now be electric. And that’s just the beginning.”

Flexible, multimodal mobility

Arval is convinced that tomorrow’s mobility will be multimodal. “We are in the process of developing an integrated platform bringing together the preferred means of transport of our customers, who are looking for flexible and practical solutions,” explains Philippe Kahn. “In the near future, a user of our solution could very well drive his or her personal vehicle to the station, hop on a train, take an electric scooter once there and then finish the journey using a shared car. And all this in a totally transparent way, both for the user and employer.”

Partnerships to go further

“To achieve this, we are relying on our know-how, and on the expertise of partners in the field who are developing integrated ecosystems that meet today’s mobility needs.” These are new applications that help users reach their destination in the way that suits them best.

Arval Beyond

Arval is, in effect, much more than just cars. “We always start from the needs of our customers. They are the ones who guide us, and then we offer them solutions. We want to become mobility facilitators and offer our customers sustainable mobility as a service,” concludes Philippe Kahn.
