Expat Financial Affairs is organised by the British Chamber of Commerce and BNP Paribas Fortis. This year, the event was also supported by the American, Italian, Spanish, French and Japanese Chambers of Commerce.

The event consists of a number of short presentations designed to inform expatriates about financial matters in their host country.

Financial info sessions for expatriates

In all there were six different sessions this year, during which BNP Paribas Fortis experts provided the expat audience with information on a range of financial topics.

Explains Salvatore Orlando, Head of Expatriates at BNP Paribas Fortis: “This is a unique initiative on the Brussels and wider Belgian scene. We invite around 400 expatriates living in Belgium to attend this networking evening, where they can find out more about financial matters in this country, meet Estate Planning, Real Estate and Entrepreneurship experts, and mingle with fellow-expats.”

BNP Paribas Fortis supporting expatriates

BNP Paribas Fortis is determined to be a trusted partner for expats in Belgium. The Bank has created a range of services specially suited to their needs.

Expatriates are able to open a current account at the Bank even before they arrive in this country. Once they are in Belgium, a network of experts is on hand to provide them with the very best financial advice, closely suited to specific expat needs.

In addition to the Expat Desk at the Easy Banking Centre, no fewer than 26 BNP Paribas Fortis branches – half of them located in Brussels – offer advice and services tailored to the needs of expatriates in this country. Apart from daily banking services, the Bank provides insurance products, loans and investment vehicles. Moreover, in order to help expat customers to integrate smoothly into this country, BNP Paribas Fortis regularly invites them to all kinds of events such as excursions and conferences.

At the end of their stay in Belgium, expatriates will of course need to arrange their move to the next host country or back to their homeland. BNP Paribas Fortis customers are able to call on a network of experts from across the BNP Paribas Group in no fewer than 72 countries.
