Impact Together: a philanthropic fund for greater positive impact

BNP Paribas Fortis has created Impact Together. This fund, hosted within the King Baudouin Foundation, shares the philanthropic vision that has driven us since 2015: contributing together to a more sustainable and responsible world.

How does this philanthropic fund work?

• Every year, we donate part of the total proceeds from investments by our customers in certain BNP Paribas Fortis responsible funds to Impact Together. In this way, our customers help to make a positive difference, without affecting their fees or returns.
• Part of this yearly amount goes to the structural strengthening of local organisations (venture philanthropy) that work every day to create a better future for our society. This is done through very concrete local projects.
• Another part of this budget is used to support specific projects of social and/or environmental organisations, through one-off financial assistance.
• We can also respond to crisis situations if necessary (as we did during the floods in summer 2021 and the war in Ukraine during 2022).

Robust governance

The King Baudouin Foundation, in which our philanthropic fund is hosted, fulfils two important roles. On the one hand, it is responsible for the operational management of Impact Together. On the other hand, as a member of its Management Committee, it is involved in major strategic, budgetary and positioning decisions. The operating costs of Impact Together within the King Baudouin Foundation are covered by management fees, deducted from the fund’s total budget.

Impact Together: a complementary action to that of our Foundation

BNP Paribas Fortis Foundation mainly supports projects by associations that aim to integrate children and young people in difficulty through education. This is done thanks to the active support of the bank's various departments in Belgium, and the commitment of our employees.

Impact Together’s actions are made possible by our customers and complement those of our Foundation.
