BNP Paribas Fortis’ beliefs and intentions to reduce its environmental footprint remain as strong as ever. A Corporate Environmental Management System and Carbon Reduction Program were implemented.

The environmental policy of our organization is the driver of our Environmental Management System in order to improve our environmental performance.

 

 

BNP Paribas Fortis implemented its own Corporate Environmental Management System (CEMS) based on the ISO14001 standard and fixed objectives and targets for a number of key performance indicators.

Tha purchase of green electricity, large investments and many organisational measures reduce BNP Paribas Fortis' energy consumption and it's CO₂ emissions.

 

 

A web based system enables BNP Paribas Fortis to follow-up and evaluate its internal environmental performance related to energy, mobility, paper and waste.

Sustainability aspects are taken into consideration at each stage of the tender process. Suppliers are asked to return a signed copy of the Code of Conduct for Suppliers to BNP Paribas Fortis.

In order to raise the awareness of our employees, we trained about 150 colleagues to become EcoCoaches. They now play an active role in our Go Green awareness campaign launched in 2010.
